What is the best race to play in Skyrim when specializing in conjuration and destruction magic?

Based on a poll I ran earlier, there is a high probability that your first character in Skyrim is a warrior type. But when the one-handed and two-handed head bashing type of play gets boring, most of us try playing with magic. A Battle Mage, who’s specialty it is to cast destruction and conjugation is a lot of fun!
